Shen Yun Performing Arts at Belk Theater

Shen Yun — the world’s best cultural dance institution — has announced this season's schedule of shows connecting many of North America’s most distinguished stadiums, which includes the Belk Theatre at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Friday 20th February 2026!

Before the period of Communist rule, 5000 YEARS of arts, legends, and culture flourished in each corner of mainland China, and year after year, the New York City-founded Shen Yun revives these perennial treasures for all to enjoy! 2026 is no exception.

Celestial beings walking across the earth. Sprawling grasslands streaked by nomadic hordes of Mongols. And battlefield heroics of dauntless soldiers. Shen Yun’s seasonal shows center around the many legends and parables that transcended Chinese empires, imaginatively portraying their fortunes and calamities with principles from Taoist and Buddhist beliefs to round up each story.

The approaching production will feature twenty story sections of unbelievable performances in approximately 2 hours. Classically trained dancers trimmed in strikingly decorated costumes will flutter through the floor, narrating the event’s sagas with 17 to 18 intricate folk dance sequences. Additionally, 2 or 3 vocal and instrumental solos will intersperse these chapters with invigorating symphonies — both original and traditional.

A full-piece orchestral ensemble will perform sweeping music throughout the show, inventively combining Western and Chinese instruments. In regard to staging, Shen Yun utilizes a cutting-edge virtual backdrop to display animated scenes, pulling viewers into the realm of China before Communism in a jaw-dropping fashion.

During the trip's stop in Charlotte, North Carolina, the premier Belk Theatre at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will be our host. Its gorgeous stage, favored by dozens of the past century's biggest artists, will set the foundation for the impressive exhibition, elevating it further with splendid vantage points, dynamic lighting, and pitch-perfect acoustics.
